reason to believe

I woke up with this (well, it makes a nice change from the InuYasha theme) and by my lights, it's more poetry than most.

One of the great things about what I do in my other life is that I am usually in the theater taking photos while the artists are doing their sound check. Many of the choices are beautiful, funny, amazing or chances for the artist to belt out something out of character for them - to test the system.

At one of his shows for us, John Gorka used this to test the piano. Most of the crew crept quietly into the theater, and he ended up singing it straight through...

Reason to Believe
Tim Hardin

if I listen long enough to you
I'll find a way to believe that it's all true
knowing that you lied straight faced while I cried
still I look to find a reason to believe

someone like you
makes it hard to live without somebody else
someone like you
makes it easy to give and never think about myself

if I gave you time to change my mind
I'd find a way to leave the past behind
knowing that you lied straight faced while I cried
still I look to find a reason to believe

if I listened long enough to you
I'd find a way to believe that it's all true
knowing that you lied straight faced while I cried
still I look to find a reason to believe
