New St. George Reunion concert, which is coming up this Thursday at the
If I had any chance of a breath in my week, Jim and i would drive down for this show. But aside from there being no way we can logistically arrange it, I can imagine how much crap we would have to endure for driving anywhere that isn't to the hospital in NY
But if you can go, I can't recommend tis enough. Lisa is worth the price alone. I got to see NSG only once, but wrote a review so glowing it ended up being quoted in theoir press kit. And the penultimate concert we did before we went of hiatus was with The Strawbs - doing what I do, I have seen a lot of bands trying to ride nostalgia waves - and these guys are not that. Chris and I had to pinch each other to believe they could still sound so perfect.
New St. George was a British Folk-Rock band that I was in in the late 1980s and early 1990s, which had a great run and a mutually affectionate relationship with the DC music scene and greater folkdom. For more info on the band, see http://www.kinesiscd.com/jennifercutting/nsghome.htm Jennifer's new CD, "Ocean," which features vocals by Maddy Prior, Grace Griffith, Polly Bolton, and me, will be available at the show.
