it's been busy here, and I don't seem to deal with interference with my personal schedule as well as I once did. It's been a pretty good week, though.
Special hugs to my spanish songbird. I missed you so many times today.
MOM: Jim's mom is back in the hospital, and he made the trip without me this week (didn't even tell me until he got back so i would not brood) I have no idea what the real situation is here. Jim seems ok, and that suits me.
CHRIS: Got to spend a couple of nights with Chris's family while they were visiting, including Becca, who is a delight and quite the miniature Orlando Bloom fan. I delivered Chris's big Aragorn and Legolas figures, and it was a little like Christmas. I want to make Chris set A & L up as the Argonath, with Frodo and Sam "with elven boat action" between them for photos. We watched Calendar Girls with Chris's mom.
ANOTHER CHRIS: My brother appeared out of nowhere, and he and his new partner drove down and spent Saturday with me. I was nervous and wondering if I would make it through an entire evening, but found instead that I was sad when they went home. That's my best compliment for company of any kind.
MOVIE: Got kidnapped today with Chris, and the three of us went to see Riddick this evening, which was fun on several levels (but I am coming to hate the AMC theater by Chris, which is not good since it is the only one she likes. This is the second movie in a row where it was so hot in the theater I had to fight to stay awake. If it happens again, I am not going back there till fall.)
GRAPHICS: been doing a bunch of small graphics, and one larger project - I did switch to PS-CS and to break it in, I worked on a journal graphic with lilithilien. Cowboys as far as the eye can see - go take a peek. And so far, I like CS very much. It seems fussy about getting back into a font layer, but that is my only complaint so far.
MITHRILS: And I did not even see the Mithril announcements until this evening. It was lovely indeed to see how many stories I love, and how many people I care for placed in the awards.
I hope the rest of the winners will forgive me if I send a special congratulations to avon7 and edrys (Nessime) who I have come to think of as family, and who *tied each other* for runner up, Best Story Focusing On Men, as well as both being commended in other categories. I am so proud of you both! And to Flick and Lee for landing in the finals! Woohoo! Many hugs!
and many more friends to congratulate, but it is 6:30 and I am turning into a pumpkin. Tomorrow I will try to send hugs and congratulations to you all!
