seasonal ramblings of the deranged #1

The other morning after Jim left for work, I lay there awake listening to one of my least beloved class of morons out in the parking lot. I assume he was picking someone up and they were not ready, so he honked his horn. Repeatedly. for about ten minutes. At ever shorter intervals.

I considered climbing out of bed and heaving my enormous naked bulk half out the window and explaining to him that he was not he only person on the planet. But that way lies madness, because once I transform into Nemesis, no one is ever sure how long the avenging will last or who will be made to suffer. And the cops might not be intimidated by my venus-of-willendorf physique, and take a dim view of the proceedings.

Fortunately, the spirits of the earth decided to defuse the situation by amusing me.

Honk! went the imbecile in the parking lot. Honk! Honk honk!!

Honk! dimly replied the wild geese. Honk! growing louder by the second.

Honk! Honk! HONK! until the horn could barely be discerned in the melee.

HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK! Honk! Honk! honk! honkhonk. honk...

I don't know what happened under cover of the Canadas. Maybe his passenger came and they simply left. But I like to think he is being carried to South America even now. Happy landing!
