I find I am quite taken with the #9 phrase from the Bulwer-Lytton
"Just beyond the Narrows, the river widens"

I find a gentle poetry in it, the kind of things kids says that adults are too concerned about stating the obvious to mention.

I am often taken by a phrase, and recently I have been taken by these:

the pirates from Ruroni Kenshin:
Lets eat and drink until we get fat and drunk!

pure joy in that.

And these two of three that were sent to my by Lee, my partner in word crime (we truly did collaborate on a story called "murder on the two man luge")

If Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla were professional wrestlers, would they fight in a Faraday cage match?

"Are you now or have you ever been a Japanese spirit of nature?"
-Sen. Joseph McCarthy, universe 21b

maybe I like that one so much because my answer is yes.
