One of Australia's most recognisable faces, the ubiquitous David Wenham, will play the lead in a new ABC miniseries, Answered by Fire.
The Canadian and Australian co-production, which starts shooting in Queensland late this month, tells the stories of a group of UN peacekeepers working in East Timor in the lead-up to its 1999 referendum on independence and the bloody aftermath.
Wenham plays an Australian police officer. The three-hour miniseries was co-written by Katherine Thomson and Barbara Samuels. Jessica Hobbs is directing.
