some years ago, we had a discussion about how there weren't enough brand new obscure traditions anymore, and through various meandering we began the custom of kissing at 11:11. (not just romantic, though jim and I do that, but more like stopping to remember each other)

So, I just had a phone call from my Annaliese (shuttergal) who is in Alaska crusing with a friend and taking nature pictures. She hiked out of town this morning, and at 11:11 her time, she found herself hunkered down in a raven nursery, surrounded by a plethora of craaking, squawking hungry little ravenlets - so, she called to let me hear them yelling to be fed.
