I just got in from a double header of Memoirs of a Geisha and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Now - there you have one of my favorite books, and one that - well, not so much. But both seemed like they would benefit from big screen viewing. In spite of my trepidation, I really enjoyed both of them.
More on that later. I am headed for the bathroom, coffee, and a little back stretching. Tomorrow Chris and I plan on Brokeback and Walk the Line, but this time without Jim who, sadly, has to work (but may be glad not to have to go - though he enjoyed both of tonight's offerings.
Last night, in addition to getting two packages ready to mail, we watched:
Full Metal on Adult Swim (I have the dvds, but I am trying not to skip ahead because I like having time to think about them, and also because we're so close to the end, and Gah, what will I do then?)
and Ghost In The Shell
(so mean to my favorite character, Togusa)
The first disc of Someday Dreamers, which was not at all what I expected (obviously, I read too many things in NewType and get my titles all confused) but which we both really really enjoyed
the first disc of the second series of Ai Yori Aioshi (I hope this picks up, because we both love the main couple but frequently want to smother the surrounding cast - and this left us waiting for the main plot in vain)
a movie that Fritz (aspidites) spotted as a hole in my William H. Macy collection when she was here - Happy, Texas. (Woot! I loved this, even though I wanted a bag to put over my head at the same time. I can't wait to make Chris watch it!)
(that list of sitting should make avon7 cringe *g*...
