I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people are real-life friends who I see frequently. Others I know relatively well: I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."
I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.
Here's me, randomly:
I am born on the only holy day of obligation in the entire summer - the Assumption.
When I was little, (around 3) my *party piece* was to be stood on/by the piano and made to sing all of "The Wild Colonial Boy" or "MaryAnne O'Shea."
My first big fandom-style crush was on Johnny Weissmuller. Later I branched into George Reeves as Superman, Leslie Nielson as The Swampfox, Guy Williams as Zorro.
I am a Sophie Tucker fan.
When Million Dollar Movie played "Forbidden Planet," "Attack of the Crab Monsters," or Mighty Joe Young, I would watch both shows every day for the entire week.
When I went for my kindergarten interview and the nuns asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "A Lighthouse."
As an adult, I met the big writing/music idol from my youth, and was *not* disappointed.
I like Canadian musicians.
I always wanted write, and I never expected to do it.
